Spheres is an innovation in Tarot that I created to assist me with understanding energies in play around me in the here & now. Over the years I have been using one version or another of Spheres as a visionary tool and have found it to be invaluable.

Tarot isn’t a science or religion. It is the ancient art of imbuing symbolic content with meaning to enlighten and empower consciousness. When treated with sacred respect oracles provide significant perspectives from the surrounding environment of energies as they fluxuate and coalesce. To take a step back from our daily lives to consider what is really happening is not an easy thing to do. In dealing with demanding tasks, obstacles, interests and concerns, we are often too busy reacting to even consider contemplation.

My use of the essential techniques of Tarot began as a young man, before I ever heard of Tarot. In youth, the mediums of transmission into magical realms are many, including the gifts of imagination, intuition and inspiration that can make a child’s life so special. Though these precious gifts often fade as we enter adulthood they don’t have to.

We all experience the universe as if we were at the centre of it. We may know that this is not so in a scientific or religious sense, yet in a practical sense we live in the middle of everything surrounding us. We each star in our own dramatic movie as trailblazers cutting our own path through to the future. Self-divination is a spiritual technique to assist you with direction, production, storylines, characters, financial and love interests, etc. etc. etc.

As a symbolist I have expertise beyond anyone I have known. The symbolism in Spheres is the precipitate of my lifelong compulsion to understand the nature of the universe of energies through symbols. There is nothing here by chance. Each Sphere has its proper place amongst the others. Develop your ability to interpret the Spheres in terms of your question and you will appreciate their usefulness, just as I do. There are 40 Spheres in all placed on 4 levels; 10 spheres of consciousness, 10 spheres of activity, 10 spheres of influence and 10 vibratory spheres, denoted by numbers. When you ask a question, do so in a sincere and sacred manner and the answers in response will be equally sincere.

• Methods: The artist's ability to experiment with different techniques and approaches to their craft.

• Forces: The artist's power to influence social and cultural forces through their art.
• Effects: The artist's ability to create a ripple effect, inspiring change and transformation beyond their immediate reach.

The term "spheres of consciousness" traditionally refers to various states of awareness that a person can experience, including the conscious, subconscious, unconscious, collective unconscious, transcendent and superconscious. As a creative person you also have access to specialized spheres of conscious awareness that you can tap into including spiritual (spirit), masculine (male), feminine (female), mental (mind), heart, soul, brain, work, familiar (family), and physical (body). As a creative person and artist, exploring and understanding these spheres of consciousness opens you up to unique perspectives and your own creative process. This can lead to deeper and more meaningful work, as well as a greater understanding of yourself and your place in the world.

• The spiritual sphere of consciousness pertains to one's connection to the divine or higher power, and can often inspire creative expression.
• The male or masculine sphere of consciousness may manifest in the drive to pursue and achieve creative goals, taking action and asserting one's artistic vision. It can be the assertiveness that compels an artist to take risks, try new things and push their creative boundaries.
• The female or feminine sphere of consciousness may manifest in the capacity to listen and observe, access one's intuition and gain inspiration from their surroundings. It can be the ability to take in and interpret the world around them, and then channel it into their creative work. The feminine sphere can also involve the nurturing and caring for one's creative expression, cultivating it with patience, love, and care.
• The mind (mental) sphere is an aspect of one's consciousness that is associated with higher reasoning. It is the sphere concerned with the processing and storage of information, and the generation of ideas and solutions. This sphere is responsible for the ability to conceptualize, plan, and execute tasks. It enables an artist to develop critical thinking skills, to create innovative concepts and execute them to produce a work of art.
• The heart sphere of consciousness is concerned with emotions, intuition, and creativity. It is the sphere that enables an artist to connect with their inner self and emotions, and to express them through their artform. This sphere is responsible for the ability to empathize with others, to feel emotions deeply, and to express them in a way that is relatable to the audience. It helps an artist to create art that touches the heart of the viewer, that is able to evoke emotions, and that is able to move people to action. The heart sphere is essential for creating art that has depth and meaning, that is able to transcend cultural and linguistic boundaries, and that is able to connect with people from all walks of life.
• The soul sphere of consciousness encompasses one's deepest sense of self and serves as a wellspring of creative inspiration. Many artists and creatives draw on their soul sphere to create works that reflect their innermost emotions, beliefs, and desires. Exploring and understanding one's soul connections provides a deeper sense of purpose and direction in one's creative pursuits.
• The brain sphere of consciousness is closely connected to the physical brain, and the neurological processes that govern our sensory experiences and bodily functions. • The family sphere of consciousness relates to one's personal relationships and can provide inspiration and support for creative expression.
• The body (physical) sphere of consciousness pertains to the body and its physical sensations and experiences, which can also be a source of inspiration for creative expression.
